Born and raised in New York state, Amanda Bailey began her classical training at the age of 5. She studied violin performance at both SUNY Fredonia and DePaul University under Janet Sung.  Since graduating in 2012, Amanda has been teaching grade school strings and music improvisation at the Chicago Waldorf School. She has also been a violist in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and is now a violinist in the ensemble. Amanda is one of the founding members of Quartet Datura, a Chicago based string quartet. In her spare time, she enjoys riding her bike around the city and performing at open mics.
